DNMs offer a very unique perspective on health. They follow principals of natural and bioenergetic medicine, which are excellent complements to primary care. DNMs often work with MDs, DOs, Chiropractors, Psychologist and many other medical professionals. A DNM is NOT an MD (Medical Doctor), ND (Naturopathic Doctor) or any kind of licensed medical professional. A DNM advises, educates and makes recommendations.
Natural Medicine is a distinct and separate healing art. It attempts to restore balance to the body, does not make a medical diagnosis nor treat medical diseases and does not include the use of drugs or surgery. At The Natural Path, we use health history and surveys, muscle response testing and biofeedback devices to make recommendations for better health.
The Doctor of Natural Medicine degree is recognized in 144 countries and also by WHO (World Health Organization). It is not to be confused with Doctorate of Naturopathy (ND), a separate healthcare practice and profession.
In Colorado, DNMs work pursuant to SB13-215, the Colorado Natural Health Consumer Protection Act that provides for Complementary and Alternative Healthcare. DNMs are not required to be licensed as Naturopathic Doctors.
